Accreditation 2016 – A programme of excellent quality!
European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Accreditation 2016 – A programme of excellent quality!6 June 2016 12:40 | OT Euromaster
The European MSc in Occupational Therapy underwent two re-accreditations at once: the programme accreditation according to the standards of the Dutch Flemish Accreditation Institute NVAO (NederlandsVlaamse accreditatieorganisatie) and the Distinctive Quality Feature Internationalisation according to the ECA standards (European Consortium for Accreditation in higher eduction).
The quality of the OT-Euromaster has been found to be very good by NVAO. So good in fact that there is no other programme within the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, that has received such a high level result. This fantastic news was released on the 9th of May 2016.
The accreditation report was prepared by a panel which included two international experts in Occupational Therapy education Dr. S. Kantartzis, PhD, and Prof. Dr. H.J. Polatajko-Howell.
The programme: Three times ‘good’ and once ‘excellent’
The accreditation process assesses the programme on four standards, which are 1) Intended Learning Outcomes; 2) Teaching and Learning Environment; 3) Learning and Assessment System and 4) Learning Outcomes Achieved. The first three were judged to be ‘good’, and the fourth one ‘excellent’.
Internationalisation at its best: “innovative and original”
In addition the panel has advised that the Distinctive Quality Feature for Internationalisation should also be awarded. The assessment report states that “the programme has internationalisation at its core, with a stated commitment to internationalisation, a consortium of partner institutions from five European countries leading the programme, teaching taking place on location in these five countries and the diverse group of students attending the programme“. This Feature was awarded to the programme for the first time in 2010.
